Control Engineer
The Control Engineer will be responsible for the design/support and implementation of distributed control systems, provide consultation on control systems, and the development and design of HMI graphics. S/he will be required to follow the established work flow processes with close attention to detail while gaining knowledge in process control and becoming proficient in reading and interpreting P&IDs. The Control engineer will also become familiar with in-house developed software products and graphic scripting. This position is an entry level position, responsible for maintaining a professional manner and demonstrating excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Improvement of skills and knowledge on one of our in-house control systems (e.g Experion, TDC, DeltaV, or Yokogawa)
- Assists in the design and implementation of changes to software and other control systems necessary to provide an accurate and reliable control system; conducts tests on fixes and/or enhancements
- Responsible for factory/site acceptance tests ensuring that all components are fully tested and meet industry guidelines and customer requirements
- Create and update documentation for design, control configuration and provide detailed documentation upon project completion
- Coordinate and effectively communicate with project team
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Chemical/Electrical Engineering
- Clear and organized writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and familiarity with general programming techniques for languages such as VB, VBA, etc
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory
