Our Senior Computer Software Developers are responsible for maintaining/improving existing software and assisting in coding, testing, and debugging of new applications. Candidate will work closely with the technical staff to learn, understand, and make suggestions for solutions and software enhancements. Candidate may also be asked to assist in the development of user/training manuals. The Computer Software Developer will plan and conduct analysis, design products, and code software that requires extensive research. Candidate should possess a background in computer science and/or software engineering along with knowledge of software development and methodologies. Our Senior Developers have additional responsibilities to architect product and solution strategies, establish and promote best-practices and internal standards and help train developers and interns.

Responsibilities

  • Function as a technical resource developing internal “Best Practice” and utilizing “Industry Standards” for system integration projects
  • Hands-on involvement in projects without necessarily utilizing other staff and direct interaction with client engineers and decision makers
  • Maintain current functional and technical knowledge of our product lines and deployment environments
  • Champion developing and improving existing business processes, and coordinate and effectively communicate in the development team and with engineering project teams

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (preferred) or equivalent and 2 – 5 years related experience and/or training
  • Excellent implementation skills (VB/Java scripts, .NET, XML, HTML)
  • Clear and organized writing, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry as well as calculate figures and amounts
  • Software project lead or architect experience
  • Familiar with Agile development methodology
  • Desired: Working knowledge of Jira, Git and Confluence. Knowledge of DCS/PLC systems, the ability to understand vendor-specific graphics software programs, and Microsoft Office
